    [kitchen tools] Spatulas

And last for today, here are my spatulas .

The round one is the exact copy of a plastic one. Actually, my last son has joined a cooking class at high school, and he had this plastic tool in his professional set. I could not decently leave him with a plastic spatula, so I made this exact copy out of wood.

The middle one, is the model we use in our home kitchen, not made by me, but I made the upper model which is a double sided spatula, something new, just to have the choice !
(I think the flat tip is better in a pan and the round tip better in saucepan or woke ..)

    Not tried yet.

All made of beech wood also.

For a craftsman such as yourself, Christophe, I can see how that piece of plastic must have made you cringe.

    Christophe,

I like the thin profile of these spatulas and very nice work. How did you create the branding marks and how are these applied (heated branding iron)? Thanks for the photos and now we know there is a culinary section. There are a lot of cool gadgets in this category.

    Thanks, Paul

I was just wondering about that branding also. The double ends are a useful touch, saves on cleaning dishes too.

I have found i can always taste when plastic and silicon spatulas have been used. All our plastic kitchen wear went in the recycle bin. Been learning more and more about how the chemicals in the plastic leech out and may contribute to cancer too.
