    4x4Builds.net: 1962 Willys Wagon by Willys 4x4

This 1962 Willys Wagon was built by Willys 4x4 on Pirate4x4.com.

The builder first bought this Willys when he was just seventeen. After college and a job in the real world, he started to invest serious time and effort in the build.

The wagon was originally powered by a 1974 351 Cleveland, which the builder replaced with a $100 1967 Ford 289, then rebuilt it after the wrist pins seized.

What's interesting here is the incredible work put in restoring the terrible bodywork done by the previous owner. The builder is a novice welder and fabricator, but did an admirable job fixing numerous bodywork errors that weren't just gobs of Bondo, but braised tin, and wood shims!

Can't imagine. Love it. My first car was a 2WD '52. Still miss it. Little confused by the engine change.
