    If you enjoy designing mechanisms, you should be aware of a book entitled 507 Mechanical Movements. Written in 1868 by Henry T. Brown, it's a compendium of all sorts of mechanisms, both common and ingenious. The book is available in pdf form on the web but this...

    That is nice. I also picked up a copy of this book https://books.google.com/books?id=Mw...Hiscox&f=false from Lee Valley a few years back on sale. A fascinating book to read through.

    Another good set of reference books is a four volume set entitled "Ingenious Mechanisms For Inventors and Designers". These books take the state of the art mechanisms and show how they are used in various industrial applications. I have a set of these, and I haven't even read them all yet.
    On another note, back in the 60's, when I was starting out in the world of tech, I was reading a monthly periodical called "NASA Tech Briefs". Talk about an influence on a young mind!

    Thank you for the link to this. Many of the items are somewhat a duplication but the concepts and ideas can prove to be quite useful.

    Mr. Klotz and Owen Moore;
    Bookmarked the 507 Movements, and Ingenious Mechanisms purchased long ago.
    Instead of packing lunch, reading in the kitchen. Hellooo, oven timer!
