    Lightbulb Band Saw fixture plate

My latest creation is this fixture plate for a band saw. This allows you to cut small parts safely, even smaller than shown.

This is a real simple, but very well thought out fixture plate. I'll definitely be making something similar for my bandsaw.
    Thanks,

How do you handle 45 deg angle cuts?
Nice job for 90 deg cuts and small parts, I am trying to re engineer my band saw into a mitering one like ellis saw.

Well that will still have to be invented. LOL This is of course only 90 degree cuts. I'm sure something with a 45 degree cut on the end could do it though...

I don't see anything in Bob's design that prevents the vise on the band saw from being moved to any angle of 0 to 45. Just put the other end of the square tube (leave one end square) in the vise, and cut it off to 45. Then it will be parallel to the blade cut. The threaded fixture holes and thumb wheel jack, will still hold the work piece.

I really like this fixture idea.
    Thank you Bobs409!

Capital idea in use of tubing for a base, for others C-channel is good too. Accomplishing miters, at least some, are possible with Bobs409 tool.
The fixture is already in place, only need stops for locating material at positions other 90°. Extend range by widening plate between vise jaws. Builder could populate with more tapped holes as well.

For angles use angle blocks, sine bars or whatever on top of the 2x3. Shouldn’t be a big deal for shallow angles steeper angles would benefit from a larger block. More mounting holes wouldn’t hurt either. All in all an excellent idea.
