    Ken,
    Thank you for posting the videos. I have some friends in California who have been removing some very tall trees on their properties that were dying from lack of water. Lots of ideas in these videos for making their own saw mills and perhaps salvaging the trees for their own lumber.

    This is definitely on my build list. We clear the property for fire mitigation, so we end up with plenty of trees for fuel, and I save the nice ones for future projects. Fir, pine, aspen, and plenty of it.

    An example of how strong the fire mitigation mindset is (without being legally necessary): the county does flyovers with small planes, photographs the property, then mails you an aerial photograph of your property with suggested fire mitigation lines marked in red.
