In English: "Pile driver". Also, colloquially: "post driver", or "stake driver", or "post knocker". +1 for the music choice :)
I just realized we have zero homemade pile drivers listed in the encyclopedia. I just found some interesting ones on YouTube.
Here's a good one:

This one is powered by bare feet. Probably not my first choice, but still interesting:

Amazing. LOTs of skill and brain crunching involved in making those. The human-powered one takes the cake. Hop on gang!

This one is mine. Works great! I did remove the trailer jack and replaced it with a hydraulic spud for more stability and faster setup. I have driven several 5x5 square wood posts and several steel posts.
It is not easy to get a perfectly plumb post but I am typically doing the work by myself. Still easier than digging holes and putting them in concrete.
Nice to see you here, Imabass! Welcome to HomemadeTools.net :welcome:
I blew a lot of time on your YouTube channel today. Lots of goodies there; we'll have to get this stuff linked on our site. Really original stuff too. Some of my favorites in addition to the pile driver: fence wire unroller, motorcycle fork lift, automatic chicken feeder, chicken tractor, hay spear.

Thanks! I just bought a big tractor and I am now starting to build my own implements for the tractor. The first one I am working on is JAWS. It is a 3 point hydraulic jaws for removing everything from small trees to fence posts.
I am also sourcing parts to build my own water well drill. I have a shallow water table and I want to add a geo thermal setup to the house as well as water well in the remote pasture for live stock. Basically I just need the swivel and time.
I wish I had more time to build stuff. My day job as an accountant/finance professional and 120 mile daily commute and night job of starting up a small farm is really demanding on my time.
I also have some good videos of propane conversions for lawnmowers to generators. I have not yet done any videos for my car/truck propane conversions. My next conversion, I will be sure and get a decent video.
JAWS sounds cool! Pretty much everyone here wishes they had more time to build stuff, even the retired guys who build stuff all day. :)
By the way, I should've mentioned: if you post your videos individually in the Homemade Tools subforum, they'll be automatically added to our weekly "Tool of the Week" contests, and I think they'll get more eyeballs that way than being lumped in with this one thread. You can take a look at our Must Read subforum to see the previous winners and our other hand-picked threads.
