    Blind nailing plane - photos

    Stranahan blind nailing plane. The plane cuts the wood, leaving an attached flap. A nail is driven below the flap, which is then glued down over the nail.



    Patented in 1886, with US Patent #345,870:



    There is a commercial one available today (technically "no longer available" on the website ), from Lee Valley Tools.
