Genius! I wish I had thought of that. This morning I spent about 30mins tapping and reading my indicator to get the disc in the chuck perfect... Nice video, nice idea.

When I first saw the tittle I thought someone might be restoring a vintage brake lathe like a Van Norman, Ammco, Barrett, Or possibly a Quick-way or Coats which I think were made by Van Norman
The adapter you made if it had been bored to fit a mandrel would be quite similar to those used on brake lathes since the beginning so good job
Single cutting disks is often done but can lead to the surfaces not being parallel to each other
Making or buying a twin cutter assembly is always optimal but hardly worth the expenditure in time materials or money for a one time run Many shope will no longer turn or true disks or drums due to liabilities and labor expense
