    Builder page question

Hi. I'm really new here and was wondering how to post to my builder page or is that something only admin does when they think a post is worthy?

I tried to search to see if it has already been covered but couldn't find anything!

I'm enjoying the site so far, lots to see and lots getting the gears turning for my next project!

    Thanks
    Gary

    Hi Gary,

Glad to hear you're enjoying it here. Yes, you're essentially correct, it's a manual administrative process that works with your forum posts.

    1. You post a homemade tool in the Homemade Tools subforum.
    2. A human editor reviews the tool, and enters it into our Homemade Tools encyclopedia. He'll create a title and description, choose a representative photo, add tags, and categorize your tool. This is usually done within a few days, for all your homemade tools.
    3. A "receipt" will automatically be posted into the same discussion that you started with your homemade tool, so you know that your homemade tool has been properly indexed.
    4. Your tool will automatically be added to your Builder page.

This is our solution to a common problem in forums: people make great posts, but those posts get lost among thousands of discussions, and only experienced forum users generally know how to find them.

We also have a second manual review layer. If your tool earns enough "Thanks" votes, it will be moved into the Best Homemade Tools subforum during a once-monthly move (or immediately if your tool wins the Homemade Tool of the Week award). Once that happens, your tool will automatically appear on our Best Homemade Tools page.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
