So you saved a Deckel from scrap? Would like to hear that story.....
Milling machine with metal waste. Price 130 € in a bad condition, without motor. On the Croatian market of such milling machines in good condition are around 3000 €, depending on the accessories.
Otherwise, DECKEL FB1 in Croatia has not got the fans in this class of machine milling machine for metal is the best Prvomajska ALG100, better for tool holder ISO40.
Very interesting, darkoford ,thanks.
By the description the link is a close knockoff of the Deckel it would seem. A quick scan of different Craigslist in the US show different Deckel mills and prices all over the place. One really interesting one was called a duplicating mill and I wondered what was the difference. By your link, it was an attachment to a regular Deckel mill. I don't remember the designation/model # but it looked like one of the bigger ones. It said it was lightly used and looked it. It was only $1200 but on the opposite coast. Good thing because that would have been an incredible deal if true. I wasn't even aware of Deckel mills until recently. The only Deckel machines I knew of was their single lip tool grinder sharpeners.
Glad you saved such a nice machine from scrap.
By 1990, Prvomajska is mostly exported to America Mills ALG 100 and ALG 200.
I found one and moulders atlas 7 "free time for editing wait.
I'm sorry because I did not have enough space because there were several MIG 21, MI8, T55, T84 wastes.
We have renewed one aircraft and placed it in the museum MIG 21 bis L17

It would be a perfect decoration for the yard.
Why not? My yards' had F4 Phantoms, A6 Intruders, A7 Corsairs, SH-3 Sea Kings, and RA-5 Vigilantes first, later F14 Tomcats, S3 Vikings, and gorgeous Grumman C1 Traders, even C2 Greyhounds; a lot of room in 1100 feet of real estate.
Nuclear power, the 94,000 ton displacement and 5000 family members probably helped...
I like Deckels, they are versatile. Lots of knock-off single lip grinders dirty up the market, cause the real deal pulls tall $$$. Duplicator is another function of pantograph, usually engraving letters, figures, simple graphics and contours.
Although, I favor the Sajo (Sweden) horizontals, act far more powerful than 3 hp would be in a Bridgeport. Belt-drives just aren't gears. They are serious milling machines, most imported were smaller models, and a wide range of related tooling. I never found one for sale, so my horizontals are K&T's and Cincinnati's.
I used to maintain a shredder in a scrap yard and the good machinery coming through was criminal. Nice job on the mill and so nice to hear some jazz.
Wow, Norton, how did you deal with that? I guess I'm too much of a junkyard dog. It tears my heart out to see anything well made and usable thrown away. That's one job I could never do.
Sometimes I cried. Had to do other work as it caused me so much distress. We weren't allowed to save anything either, nada. Another job for a waste company used to see huge bins of all sorts bought in for destruction to keep market prices stable or things like 15K cases of beer destroyed under guard because ofoff-center labeling.
My daughter works for a scientific supply company and what goes to scrap is mind-blowing. I was there yesterday and a NZ$120K machine was thrown out because it had a scratch on it. I don't know what it was but sure I could have used bits of it.
Is this why we have to pay so much for tools?
World needs more saviours like Darkoford.
