    Dremel right-angle tool repair

Got too pushy I guess, and shredded the flexy cable link. I repaired it with a nail. It doesn't give the torsional cushion that the cable does, but it's never been a problem.

Nice fix. How that original link was attached?
    Was it easy to remove?

    Thanks!
The original one is only held in by friction at the squared end near the gears. It came out with a light tug with pliers. The link that I made is loose, so falls out if the opening is pointed straight down. After a total of about 2 hours of use, the nail is only slightly worn, so about the same as the original part after 10 hours of use. These rotary tools are low-torque, so most anything of similar material would work.

great repair man, most people would`ve thrown the tool. you dug into it and fixed, great! you stated the flex is for shock absorption it also helps side effects of misalignment which in these plastic toys is a great chance. recently i burned my nth dremel rotor and i`m so pissed i won`t buy one again. i was given an angle grinder that got the head gears busted but works, guess what i will reduce the tip of the rotor axle to take the dremel collet and use with the flex extension haha, 900w (against the 135 of the dremel) 30000 rpm max, with the variable speed from the grinder down to 6000. in your face dremel
    regards
