Lightbulb Drill press table with dust collection fence.

This table not only expands the top of the drill press (can sub as a layout- workspace for my small shop) but the fence works remarkably well at removing 90% of th debris, chips and dust from drilling wood. As long as the drill speed is low it even removes the chips from forstner bits (no small feat). The table has a dust collection port and channels in between but my first attempt at drilling holes to collect table top dust wasn't as successful. The centre portion comes completely out by removing 3 screws. I plan to add a replacable sacrificial piece in the drilling area.Drill press table with dust collection fence.-0100cfeff64c8114ef06b5d88d0df89ecd0ff4bbb5.jpgDrill press table with dust collection fence.-01ba38da24ca94ede7bf3e09efef301c28d0b33d67.jpgDrill press table with dust collection fence.-0147a1bbafab546ce3e01726410b505c5f8a8a8d7b.jpgDrill press table with dust collection fence.-01be0cad8c86bcadf5f33143b64cfc7164a4fe9219.jpg

Hello Powless Design. Welcome to the forums!

Nice table. I really dig the fence and its low profile dust port. Most of the fences I've seen have their dust collection ports placed directly behind the opening.

    Hi Powless Design,
I like your design and especially the part about removing wood chips from forstner bits. These tend to get buried in their own chips and you sight of your progress down the hole. Great craftsmanship too! Welcome to the forum.
    Thanks, Paul

Very impressive. The wedge-clamp is genius. Have not seen that before. Thanks.
