Drilling Jig for Shifter Cable Pin
While developing the quick release shifter cable for the van I needed to change out the E-Clip used to hold the shifter cable to the shifter. Using a hair pin clip was the best method.

There is a groove in the pin but I couldn't rely on the clip staying in the groove with out popping out.
I needed a hole for the clip to snap into, then I would have positive retention. I cam up with this little drilling jig to pop a hole in the pin for the clip. I bored a hole in a piece of 1" dia aluminum on the lathe to fit the pin then cross-drilled it with a 3/32 drill for the clip.

I clamped the jig to the shifter and drilled the hole. Didn't even take a minute...

I set the hole up to drill thru the groove for the E-Clip. Keeps the shifter cable retained in the stock location.
