Drying a football field with helicopters - GIF

The University of Alabama brings in helicopters to dry their football field for today's Iron Bowl game. Not the single most important use of helicopters in all of aviation history, but still interesting.

Clearing snow off of trees.

One way to prevent frostbite from sun melting the snow. I 'm not sure connifers suffer from thawing too fast as do lots of fruit trees & rain forrest ones. Must be another reason for dispelling the snow. Walkway/electricity for highway?.
