I wish my shop had a press and power hammer like that. Sweet! Maybe someday...

Pretty nice job and his set up looks good. I've been sub'd to Torbjörn Åhman on YT for about 3-1/2 years now and consider his forging and other videos first rate, and his skills some of the best out there. I learn something new every vid and he's a great guy with humor and aplomb. He did a couple of axes a few years ago because he wanted to try to make some.

This Long video is ~24 min. but worth the watch. Also his power hammer is Old school Cool and did a massive foundation and some restoration when he got it.

Hope you get something from it and enjoy his work like I do.

    PJ

P.S. Also his video interludes are terrific, imho!

PJs... Thanks for the video, very interesting. I am not a blacksmith, but was wondering what he is "sprinkling" in the hole he is creating for the handle at about the 4:00 mark? Thanks, Papa Bill

I'm not a blacksmith either but did build a forge years ago and tinkered some. Typically it is Borax and used as a flux when forge welding and driving holes like that. Keeps the scale down and allows the cooler punch to penetrate better. There are commercial grades of flux with other additives but each smith seems to have their own recipe or straight up Borax.

Glad you found interest in the video. His other's are Real Good also, imho!
