Front Door Entrance Light with Bird Perch Blocker

Last weekend I put up the Christmas lights and while on the ladder I noticed this bird perch blocker that I had added to the top of the front entrance light. It has been on the top of the light for more than 17 years and works perfectly by keeping birds from sitting there and doing their thing on the front door mat. The "fence" is made from 1/16" x 3/8" brass bar and the short rods are 0.03" dia. by 4" high brass rods. The brass bar has evenly spaced holes and the rods are soldered in the holes. Stainless steel sheet metal screws attach the part to the light fixture. All the brass weathered to match the copper lighting fixture patina. The perch blocker is not noticed from the ground level view unless I point it out. In fact I forgot it was even there until I spotted it last weekend.

That's cool. Matching it with the color of the lamp does make it unnoticeable.
