    Great machining video

Saw this over on HSM. It's some of the best machining video capture I've ever seen.

It's not often that one gets to see in detail what's happening when we apply our tools to metal. (Of course, most of us don't have tools like those shown in the video.)

That's like 50 GIFs in one! There's a nascent culture developing on the net over up-close machining videos; I wouldn't be surprised to walk into a modern art museum in the next few years and see some of them formalized into a video exhibit.

And it would be a great deal better than a lot of the stuff one can find in a modern art museum.

Nope, even if we did, it would never be in such detail. Holy Moly.
Blue 6's & 9's up close and personal! Coil Spring winding. Ball Milling [not endmilling]. The multi-axis sequences were OK, but the hot rolling of the ring my favorite. Gives all new perspective in things taken for granted.

And for Jon's I wouldn't be surprised to walk into a modern art museum in the next few years and see some of them formalized into a video exhibit....That'll be interesting, first I want to hear them say "I Want To Do That!"

Here is a slow motion magnified view of chip formation. Amazing how it looks like a fluid with a wave front.
