A Half Step on a Step Ladder

Murphy's Law is alive and well in my life. I used to climb my 6-foot step ladder and be either a bit too low while standing on the third step or a bit too high with the forth step. I needed a three and a half step! Now I have one.

Neat, not sure I'd pass that if I found it during my ladder inspections, part of my job, but for home use not 'professional' it looks ideal. I'd mill some grip grooves in the edges though.

Do you think gluing on some 60 grit sandpaper would work?

Probably, after all 3M sell a commercial grip sheet that's basically course grit with a plastic adhesive backing. https://www.3m.co.uk/3M/en_GB/compan...3786499&rt=rud
