Handy saw horses

Ok hardly a saw horse per-say but most use the generic term for work stands
I built these a while back because I had a pipe job that was just too cumbersome for regular 3 legged pipe stands
the work stands are made from scrap scrap rails that I removed from a trailer
I used 2 sections of the side rails for each stand this made a very nice VEE work platform to lay things in lengthwise of the stands also the roller on the side flips down out of the way or up to use to allow things to be rolled instead of dragging them

makes for an easy painless job to move roll or otherwise handle 40 ft long pipe
And everything gets Cat scanned

Hmm. That's an interesting variation on a sawhorse/stand. Something to remember when I finally get around to putting my sawhorse/vise stand together.

DIYer, I had several reasons for building them like that.
#1 everything was on hand and in my usable reconstitution (scrap) pile.
# 2 I needed 4 stands for a project and no time to spend on fabrication.
#3 the "V" trap makes them a lot more versatile since I can lay a long piece in the "V" so only 2 stands are needed to do much wider work
#4 the flip up rollers lift the objects only enough so the work can be moved by 1 person.
#5 the angle iron bracing below allows for the addition of a shelf
#6 The most important thing is FREE cost, plus being strong and stable

I have some old bed rails that are eramarked for such a project, this gives me some good ideas on how to accomplish that a little better than what I was thinking.

Great sawhorses. I like your thinking. I work with lighter stuff but working in the shop on one leg I like to make things easier when I can. The "V" in the frame is a keeper.
