    Heavy binding post mk2

    Hi all
I just finished a set of heavy binding post, in brass.
The design is focused on ease of use, they can also handle lot of current. I drilled 6mm hole for cables.
I'm satisfied, the ability to hold the cable is strong, M8 threading provides lot of force, the diameter of knob allows to tighten strongly with little effort.
I decided to build them for an amplifier, the old commercial binding post had the thread broken, despite not having made heavy use. To ensure the connector to the frame I cut a M10 thread, strong enough for heavy load.

    As usual, tons of pictures

    Stefano

PS: I was wrong to post, It should be it in the finished parts section

Now That's what I would call Heavy Duty...Size 1-2 wire and carry 100+Amps. How will you insulate them from the chassis, Delrin or ceramic?

    Well done Stephano!

    Thank you PJs!
I'm a bit undecided at the time, I have to install this set on a Lm3886 amp, not so much current used to the output. I'm building a compact frame, since the old one I built 15 years ago has some trouble, my skills and equipment were very limited and I made bad decision above all on anchoring system.
The new frame is my usual steel frame welded, with aluminum panels, I will use Iroko wood for sides, I'm thinking about using this good wood even as insulator, do you think it could be a right choice? I have this wood in safe place, inside house for at least 25 years

Beautiful wood. My Djembe from Burkina Faso is made from it I believe, for its resonant properties. Personally I would put some kind of insulator on it with thin walls and for sake of ease, use white/black Delrin (Acetyl). Perhaps 2 top hat types per, inside and out...easy enough to make. Since you are likely only pushing <100W it would probably be fine through the wood. It's old enough and dry enough I would think after 25yrs of acclimatizing, but there may be a certain resistance across it, which you could measure with an Ohm Meter. Safer than sorry is my motto.
