    DLW's Tools

Hello. My name is Dave and I am addicted... to all things mechanical

I have a small home shop. My major tools:
    South Bend 9" Jr lathe
    Reconditioned Buffalo band saw
    Homemade chop saw
    6 X 9 disk/belt sander
    Early Delta drill press
    Mig & acetylene torch

I am a retired refinery worker. Things that keep me busy:
Wrenching on, painting & machining odd parts for open wheel race cars (midget, sprint & USAC Silver Crown)
    1955 Chevy street machine
    Restored John Deere 110
    Restored Ford 8N

Here is a shot of my shop's work bays at overload capacity. Unfortunately all my tools are on the opposite wall. This shows the one unfinished wall. Should I come up with something that the amazing members of this forum haven't already thought of I'll post it. So far I am just being inspired by the imagination and skill revealed here.

    Hi Dave,

    Welcome!

What a great set of hobbies! We've got lots of car guys here (including me), so you'll fit right in perfectly.

What's next on your build list?

"What's next on your build list?"

Whatever breaks or wears out around here!

The current big push is getting a pavement & a dirt car ready for the 2016 USAC season and being ready for mowing / pruning season. Did I mention we also have a small vineyard?

Here are a couple of very specific race car pieces I cobbled up:

Redesigned bleeder housings with knurled ring for easy removal from axle tubes.
