Hinge fab for a custom console

I designed and fabbed these hinges for the console I built for my '56 wagon. They work with the emblems I also designed and had 3D printed.

The hinges are glued to the back of the emblems.

The emblems sit in depressions I made while covering the console sides.

In this pic you can see the hinge block they mount to and the slots the arms go through to the front.

The emblems hinge down to uncover power points on the passenger side (phone or I-Pad charging)
and the OBD 1 connector on the driver side (not finished in this pic. ).

Very Slick, Astroracer! What motor are you running to use OBD1? Nice to have a handy port for it! Thanks for sharing!! ~PJ

Thanks PJ. The engine is a 350 SBC. I put a TBI kit on it a while back. The console was built to hide the computer which was pretty messy just sitting on the trans tunnel.

I still have a few things to finish up on it but it's been too hot to work in the shop the last week or so.

That is very cool. I have a 1973 BMW 2002 that desperately needs a new console (along with a lot of other things). The stock console looks like something from a high school wood shop class.

I like how yours turned out.
