    Homemade Bradawl

This is my Homemade Bradawl I made a few days ago. I used a Teak coffee table leg for the handle that I turned on my Homemade lathe, Then a piece of copper water pipe for the collar and an old screw driver for the spike that I ground down to shape on my bench grinder. I then found a piece of hollow Alloy pipe that I cut to size and buffed it out on the lathe to use as the safety sleeve. . I was very happy with the end result.Homemade Bradawl-13344605_491206111084830_9183923604314095083_n.jpgHomemade Bradawl-13344535_491206151084826_1958676541186842783_n.jpgHomemade Bradawl-13344792_491208271084614_7531849069601917411_n.jpg

    Terry1967,
Great job in making the awl from re-purposed materials. The copper ferrule is a nice touch and I like the display photos as well. Do you have photos of your homemade lathe or a link to a previous posting? We are always interested in seeing homemade lathes.
Thank you for posting the excellent photos, Paul

    Terry,
Thanks for link and reminder. I now remember seeing the lathe because of your beautiful wood finish on the lathe parts. I like the extra care you put into making the lathe.
