    Homemade cnc router vice

Hey all, here's my little vice i made on my cnc for my cnc
Wanted a vice i could bolt to the cnc table and be able to machine parts in it, also as a multipurpose vice with interchangeable jaws.
So this is what i came up with.
Made it from scraps of 6061 in various thickness, 20mm hdpe for the leadnut and a leftover of tr102d trapezoidal leadscrew.
Only mistake was the holes for the jaws, 5mm off, all good tho.
One change i will make is a longer slide piece to give the jaw more stability once tightening.

Worked a treat and I made a pair of locating jaws to hold a 25mm cube and as a test made a pseudo turners cube from the 25mm cube of ally. Quite happy how it turned out, much better than i expected, even gave it a quick squirt with the sandblaster for a cool finish

    Baskarz,

Nice work and vise design. You have great photos for the details. Question: Did you thread the movable vise jaw all the way through or just threaded the two nylon (?) parts on either side?

    cheers!
I'll post some deconstructed pictures later on to show how it all comes together.
The hdpe nut is an insert to the jaw and is the only part threaded.

As promised, here are a couple more photos showing how it goes together.
I couldn't be bothered completely disassembling the vice but you get the idea
The nyloc nut on the end of the leadscrew wasn't quite the same thread as the screw and so i just forced it on as i don't intend on removing it any time soon, sure is tight!

I just use a drill press vise on my CNC when I want to use a vise. Not the best because the movable jaws on those always lift, but so far good enough for what I do.
