    Homemade DRO Bracket

I ordered a 2 axis DRO from Tpac Tools for the FrankenMill. This was a fairly easy install and the first order of business was getting the display panel hung on the mill. I bent up a piece of .090 thick aluminum and drilled and tapped some 10-24 holes in the head to attach it.

The back side. It is very sturdy and the display is rock steady.

With the display arm atached. The dispaly arm has set screws so the level of the arm can be adjusted.

I can tell you the Tpac Tools DRO is a very good set up and, for the cost, is a very good addition to any manual mill. It sure does open up a lot of windows for machining and consistancy.

Yea, slip... But it works huh?
Ah, my FrankinMill. You are right. BP M Head with a B&S #7 Taper. Adapted to a Cincinnati #2 horizontal Mill Base. When I was looking to buy it I posted some pics and the descrip on the Practical Machinist site. One of the guys there deemed it the FrankenMill and it stuck. That is it's name now...
