Thanks PowerMK. Great idea to save $ and to use those leftover discs.
Fantastic idea! And they don't explode like the ceramic ones Dremel sells.
What kind of bit are you using to drill the arbor holes in the center of the disk?
Thank you very much guys!!!!! Im so happy you like it!
Yes natie123 and its easy. You can try it.
VinnieL yes they dont explode and you have more cuts!
cmarlow Im use my old drill bits because worn out. You can make about 50 disc with 1 drill bit or you can do it with a new drill bit with your hands it take more time but it does not destroy the drill bit.
Thanks again.
My Concerns=
This is interesting providing one owns a VARIABLE speed multi tool that goes as slow as 13000 rpm (the MAX RPM FOR MOST CUTTING DISCS I'VE ENCOUNTERED) & one remembers to set the speed accordingly. I'm lucky as mine goes down to 5000 rpm. Can't & dont want to imagine a grinders cutting disc at 35000 somewhat like placing a drill bit in a quarter inch router or a die grinder. Disintegrating discs cause havoc.
Thanks Chevymanjohn. Its looks easy because the speed of video its x2....
I used 125 mm with 1.2mm thick disc for metal cutting. So you can try with 1.2mm disc .
Hello ranald. The max rotation speed of disc I used is 12.250 but its not the same for disc I made for dremel because of diameter. For 125 disc max rotation is about 13.000 rmp , for 180 disc is 8.500 rmp and for 230 is 7.000 rmp. So if diameter of disc is bigger the RMP its lower. In my case diameter is 36mm. For the commercial metal cutting discs for dremel max speed is 35.000 rmp. I think the safety rmp for homemade discs is 10.000-20.000 or more based in theory.
