This is the subject of a thread over on HSM. Apparently the dumbing-down of America, and millennials in particular, is so advanced that Home Depot is now producing video tutorials on how to use a tape measure and how to hammer nails. Here's the article that started it all...

The scariest thing is that there's one for operating a circular saw and another for a power drill. Can you imagine giving a circular saw to someone so dumb he needs one of these videos?

Yeah, I guess you could say that at least a tape measure is probably not harmful. Anyway, the tape measure video rivals an old favorite of mine: How to Boil Water.

As a former Home Crapo employee in the lumber department, I can tell you that those videos are real and that I had to show MANY people (mostly younger, but not always) how to use tape measures, saws, drills, etc., even the claw end of a hammer once. I liked to point out that "these are people we sell power tools to". I also liked to point out that they where also the same ones that necessitated the need for 20 safety warnings on hammers, screwdrivers and wrenches.
