I need your help! need tool to cut and bend part

Hi all Im new to this forum and I need your help.

Here's how I make the part now,
First I cut strips of 20 gauge cold rolled mild steel into 1 1/4"X48" strips
Second I sheer those strips into 1/4" pieces
Third I bend each end with pliers 1/4" on each end

Really Time consuming way to make this little part

Im looking to make a tool that can sheer and bend in one movement.
Heres the part where I need your HELP!!

Attached are some pictures of a strip and the actual part along with the finished product. We use the part as an offset
to make our wall art 3d

    Any ideas would be appreciated

and you would not hurt my feelings if you made the tool for me!!I need your help! need tool to cut and bend part-img_5066-1-.jpgI need your help! need tool to cut and bend part-img_5091.jpgI need your help! need tool to cut and bend part-img_5051.jpg

If you have a milling machine you can make a die to form those pieces, very simple, you will need a press for operating the die, if you don't have either one of those machines it will become quite difficult to manufacture those pieces in great quantity.

I have plans listed on home made tools for a hand shear that would be fine for cutting the 1/4" strips, here again if you don't have access to a milling machine your job is going to be difficult considering the amount of pieces your trying to make.

For a simple standoff, a C-shape might work as well as the Z-shape you show. If that's true, perhaps you could source a C-channel of a suitable size. Then all you would need to do is saw/slice lengths off the channel.

How is the part attached to the art and substrate ?

thank you for your reply. Here are some pictures if our first attempt at making a tool to bend our pieces. It needs alot of work.

Also attached is a couple of the finished pieces we make so you have an idea of what there used for.

    I don't have access to a mill so I'm a little challenged.

Doug I have to ask, with your expertise would you consider building a tool or two like this for a fee?

Thank You for any help you can offer

    Tom
