    gord's Tools

    Introduction

Retired early with dementia (LBD) and diabetes and find a great deal of peace in working in shop and photography. Training (careers) as studio engineer at radio & TV station, journeymen welder, 4th class steam engineer, ALS paramedic, locksmith, gunsmith and territorial EMS manager (Yukon Canada- currently residing) .

Although my shop is one I built from timbers on my property with a dirt floor and limited heating during the winter I do have an array of tools which I created out of necessity --- few suppliers will ship this far north without lots of $$$$$$ so either you make it from what can be salvaged or u do without.

Great web site enjoy the products of truly very talented people

    Hi Gord,

    Welcome!

Sounds as though you've had a series of interesting careers. Let's see some pics of the tools you've built.

Thanks for the kind words on the site!

What's next on your project list?

I completed a power hacksaw Introduction-_dsc0002-copy.jpgIntroduction-_dsc0013-copy.jpgIntroduction-_dsc0015-copy.jpg these shots were from near-completion.

Looking into two projects - Milling Machine as a large project and leather punch made from an old hand skate riveting machine. I have always enjoyed leather-work but hands not up to par for sewing so looking into ways to make this easier.

If you are into nature - I spend hours hiking about 30 miles per week with the dog -- over past several year following a sow and cub and now at 3 years old the cub is on its own and have been following its activities. I use Facebook for other persons with dementia but are not able to be as active to see what the North has to provide. Gord Settle

    Hi gord.
Your power hacksaw looks very good.

May you post more photos for my inspiration? I´m preparing also the power hacksaw building, and every good idea fits.

    Thanks...

    Hi Michell-Boy,

    Welcome!

What are you planning to build with the new power hacksaw? Let us know when you've settled on a design.

    Hi Ken,

I'll start with building with my power hacksaw in July probably. Now I have some ideas and gather inspiration in these pages.

But once I start the construction, certainly I put here pictures and maybe even write a post.

    Michell
