Will the plans be available to download?

I bought the plans and got the knurler done yesterday. It was a really fun project to do. I'm not sure you need all 4140HT but that is what I used. I made a few mistakes but nothing that ruined a part. I broke a tap on the dovetail slide and also drilled the first hole incorrectly by mistake hence the big ugly 3/8-16 cap screws. There was no room to countersink them. The other was that I made a larger relief on the center of the feedscrew than what the plans called for. I haven't made the height adjustment screw yet. I used two pieces of Delrin on the feed screw to help keep marks off the top plate when making adjustments. I was not able to use my surface grinder as it is too small for 6" length pieces. It's only accurate to within the chuck size, 3"x5". I spent some using wet or dry on the surface plate to get very flat surfaces. Knurling wheels are Accu-Trak 128DP convex. Also I didn't have any 4-40 grub screws so those cap head 4-40 screws are temporary. I ground a very small flat on the hardened dowel pins for the grub screws to bear on.

Your feedback on making the knurling tool according to Doug's plans is very encouraging to all of us. I would like to see more people replying and saying they used the HMT tool spec inspiration to create their tools by either the author's design or using a modification to their individual design.
