Lathe bedstop take two, replacement handle

Hi All
After seeing JR post http://www.homemadetools.net/forum/m...er-screw-50792 I thought I would change the caphead to this method of clamping.

I decided to change it for an adjustable locking handle with an integral 6mm stud (see photo below). I was concern that I was going to slip and hit the rotating chuck while moving the bedstop. (I know! why don’t I stop the lathe chuck before moving the bed stop. (Habit always done it and never had a problem)) Due to the size of the lathe and the bedstop I had to have the bike clamp really too tight to prevent the bedstop from moving, This also made it difficult to operate even with the chuck stopped. The new handle locks very tight with little effort. Glad I tried the cam clamp, as I would not have bothered to change to the new handle. I was, fed up looking for the Allen key and removing the swarf from the cap head.

How does your bedstop internals work? There are no exposed threads for the stop rod and the adjuster knob is not captured between the main body. I like the simplicity of your bedstop.

I would like to point out this is not my design (wish it was) but a commercial supplied Lathe bedstop from Colchester, all I have done is modified it to accept for the operating handle.
I have added a photo of the stop disassembled so you can see all the component parts, the small knurled thumb screw not only locks the micrometre dial but also retains it. The drive from the micrometre dial to stop shaft is via a key pin in the dial and a key way in the shaft the pitch of the stop is 0.5mm therefore one full rotation advances the stop 0.5mm and is calibrated so.
