    Well ok, I only made 4 adjustable stops for mine. However the number is unlimited due to the cartridge design.
    The two main blocks were milled from hot rolled that I had on hand.
    The gate was made with the same.
    Cartridges are made of 1018 1/2" x 1/2" square stock which was also in stock.
    The hot rolled was milled to .700" thick for both the main block and the spacer block.
    The gate is spring loaded with a belleville washer which is nothing more than a flat spring in the form of a washer.
    Two long 1/4-20 cap screws hold it together and to the lathe. Had to drill two holes and tap them in the lathe bed.
    One 8-32 thumb screw for each cartridge to lock in the adjustment.

    Note: The cartridges are threaded internally for about 3/4" for the all thread so the thumbscrew just locks in the adjustment.
    The tail end is opened up to 17/64" for a bit of added clearance for the threaded rod that does not need to engage the threads.
    Short rods are just standard all thread and the black ones are grade 8.


    Advantages:
    Unlimited number of stops. Adjustments can be saved if making multiple parts.
    No interference with anything. The carriage is free to move wherever.
    The lathe chuck will not hit it like with the type that mounts to the ways.
    I have over 2.4" of adjustment with each rod and if I wanted more I could drill another mounting hole and move the main block
    toward the tail stock. That could reduce the ability of the tool bit to reach the chuck. Depends on how far down I relocate the main block.

    Thanks Dan, I had the idea after using two separate stops to make a part. One was on the left and the other on the right of the carriage.
    That setup limited carriage travel to a small amount. I almost made a turret type buy I already had noticed that my current stop would get in the
    way of the chuck jaws if they were opened very long. ( I have a 5" chuck on this little lathe).
    The turret type would limit me to 4 or maybe 5 stops and would work ok if mounted below the ways but became complicated when using it for long reaches.
    So this is what I ended up with. Just the evolution of my thinking.

    That is a very good design for allowing multiple stops when you have limited space on your lathe. Also you put a nice fine finish on the parts. Looks good.

    Thanks Paul, I think it is going to be just the ticket for making multiple complex parts on the lathe.
    Should also be quite useful for making a single part with several features that need to be "indexed".

    As mentioned, very creative solution and completely original. Only thing close, are micrometer trays as with jig bores, but are reset for each move...yours beat that! Another positive is; with a part stop in workholder, dimensioning is not degraded by incremental positioning.
    Saves a lot of 2nd operation/ rework/ inspection by holding to a single datum.

    I see in picture 3 what appears holder for travel indicator. Nearly same method I use to locate a hard stop. You could make a long nut [coupler] to hold indicator point short from where hard stop contacts carriage.

    Thanks TM I appreciate your comments. The stop has been used many times since I made it and the quick change rods
    are very helpful to quickly stop at certain points like shoulders. I use it a lot

    Over the years, I've employed a variety of lathe stops; singles, micrometer, cams, only one had multiple stops [with 6 rods] on a Logan. Having only one point, always caused wonder "who makes items with only one feature?"

    jjr2001's cartridge solution is all kinds of brilliant, mainly for ditching the conventional designs, creating a unique & more universal device.
    If I didn't have 3 G-jobs going right now [needing no turned parts], building mine would be first priority.

    Well, it's time. Those 3 connected G-jobs [post #9] are wrapping up. 8+ months ! you say?. Yeah, despite railing against big government.
    My habit often ties tooling to G-jobs; lacking facilities to leave a job in place. So good time is spent creating quick-mount set ups. I mean 'Good time' in a positive way, they even find their way into other projects. Your stop and my interpretation get started Tuesday, cuz, well, tooling = simplified part completion. This will be turning ~250 blanks, 1/4" Ø, 82° countersunk washers with radiused deburr of top.
    And they go along with the aforementioned big 3.
    Lol; and wouldn't cha know it, they're tied to one of my very early posts.
