    Leather punch holder

    Hi all!
I built an holder for leather punch. Steel made, for 2mm rod professional type punch.
I applied a knurling for a better control on grip. The M4 grain block the tool in position and prevents slip.
I have to buy a new grain of correct size, in 5th picture I mounted one I had available only for test.
I not consider this a tool, but since I had to make a drawing for a friend, I decided to post here, maybe it can be an ispiration for someone

Thanks rendoman, I can use that idea as I do work on leather sheaths, holsters etc etc.

Nice one Stefano. Great idea to have some beef behind and control with those needles. I know I have about stabbed my self heartily when I used to do leather work. I may make one my self as I want to build a new sheath for my dads old hunting knife I restored a few years back. Thanks for sharing it! ~PJ

    Hi all!
    I'm glad you like it!
I omitted in the drawing the total length because of hand size. I leaved some beef behind, trying to avoid shot of hammer , plus I leaved the lower part straight in order to have a good rest for pinkie. I found very convenient to use pinkie as centering guide and good for extraction. I found here from local leather "pro" shop replaceable punch bits, about 1 euro each, in different size, I tried also to use table drill to make the leather job, but I think the hand method is more accurate and fast

Good luck with the new sheat and leather works!

Made me laugh, out loud at that. Good job Stefano, on all leatherwork you've been posting. I've done a little, had forgotten all about it, ages ago.
