Leather strap cutter
As a proven design found all over the web, simply a block of wood that can be clamped into a vise. The width gauge on the top can be adjusted with the two screws to set the distance between the razor bald and the gauge. The razor blade is clamped into the wood with the two screws on the side. Cannot be simpler or work better. Draw leather across the tool to cut straps the width you want. Obviously a small safety concern with the razor blade being unprotected during use.

Nice first post, the.hogman - welcome to HomemadeTools.net :welcome:
Do you do much leatherwork?

Hi the.hogman,
Welcome! :welcome:
Very neat idea. My first thought was to use it for cutting razor strops. What do you do with it?

Thank you for the comments! I have been lurking here for years... I have never really thought about posting but I figured as much as I have learned and gotten ideas, I may as well offer up some things (good or bad...)
I manufacture the Kat Eyz capos for banjo and guitar. I am not sure it is allowed to post much more about that product here.
Many of the tools that you will see me post are related to jigging I have put together for that purpose. Specifically, the leather is used in strips (1/4" and 5/16") for the saddle that moves up to the necks on instruments as a protector. I cannot even tell you how fast you can make the strapping pulling it through this tool!!

Now that is a great idea. I've been using the hand held strap cutters and they work, but can be aggravating at times too.
