    lightning rod globe holders

The original globe broke due to hamfistedness on my part and because the globe was loose on the rod, so I made a set of holders that keep the "new" (antique) one in place and prevent rattling.
Two NIBCO 1/2" to 3/4" reducing couplings and two 1 1/2" tube caps, shortened and slightly re-profiled on the lathe, soldered together, then buffed with Scotch Brite. Left raw to oxidize.

I may accelerate the oxidation like I did on the globe holder next to it.
