Gee, that would suit a guy I used to hunt with, when it was legal here. We stopped for a group of roos (about 100) that were destroying a farmer's crops: this guy emptied a dozen rifles lying on a mattress in back of my ute while I unloaded a 2520, We had 2 @303 war relics, a pump action & a side by side shot gun, 2 @3030, 22 magnums, semi auto 22 , and various others. While I was taking aim the small tree beside me was almost cut in half by a solid round from a shotgun. I reckon it was less than 5 degrees from me & I was less than 5 metres from my ute,
Later in the trip we were making coffee/tea & he started shooting into the bushes/scrub. I asked what he was shooting at-response was something moved in the bushes! "Where's Jeff?" i exclaimed."dont know, he was here."
Later Jeff appeared, toilet roll & shovel in hand, and asked "what were we shooting at : my reply "don't ask". It was the last time I went with them.

That is one endless clip...but I've never needed more than one round except once when I needed two to finish the job. Like the idea of it for pistols with 10 round clips, 1911/Glock 26. Thumbs get sore after 3 or 4..

Ranald quite the sorted group. Had a similar experience when Dad joined a hunt club and ask me (mid 20's) to go with them. Guys drank way too much all day, made way to much noise and then wanted me to drive the deer up a canyon...Sorry...gotta go! Never again and Dad quit for similar reasons.

Also had some great shots with an old Enfield 303...

30 yards prone, iron sites...well before trifocals.

Plus and orange peel at about 150 yards off hand downhill from a 40' cliff. Sorry no pics but that is/was a great rifle as well as an old Arisaka 6.5!

I found a .303 with a good barrel and changed it out to a plastic Monte Carlo stock and added a scope. The scope mounts allow you to still use the iron sights so it makes a great brush gun. The plastic stock really tamed the recoil. My son took many deer with it and still hunts with it.
