Making robust Atlas 618 Milling Attachment

    New to this great forum.

The Atlas 618 lathe has a milling attachment that allows
for holding small pieces accurately for milling. Unfortunately
the grip surfaces are small and tedious to use.

I took a machinists vise 2" wide and milled the Atlas vise
width to allow for snug insertion. It has allowed for rugged
gripping and the added weight helps stabilize unit during
    milling.

Will fumble my way into trying to upload image
    with your great uploader.

Nothing wrong with that. Compares to a smaller lathe chuck mounted in larger, where jaws of the latter too big for part in question.
