    Metal Dishing Stump

A while back I made a metal dishing stump from a warn out 300 argon bottle. I also made it with the ability to add more forming tools. The ball is a shot put I bought at a garage sale for a dollar. Un slowly building up my work shop with useful home made tools.

I also filled the inside with 1" thick rubber insulation to dampen the sound. It helped quite a bit.

Savage 11 what I do to deaden sound and increase stability in my Grinder posts is to fill them with packed sand and oil also makes them really heavy so they don't move around
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

Thanks Frank, that's a great idea of using sand in my stands. The added weight will make it more sturdy. Thanks for the knowledge!!

Hello sir, you are looking at a dishing stump made from a 300 oxygen bottle. The concave surface is used to beat metal into round or rounded shapes. The ball is a shotput used for metal forming round or bowl like shapes. Hope that helps.
