This tells me, I have to make a choice. Learn design calculations to solve stress and material, by CAD or slide rule.
I've been looking at presses for ages, none combine features I think belong on a press.
What a builder, Tuomas you've done it again!

Thanks buddy. I had a little vacation, so answer comes late.
That press was for my friend. I personally stay with my small one. It fits to my needs perfectly.

Gettaways are nice, presses for friends = rewarding. But we're your friends too, still awaiting postcards from sunny Greece or wherever.
All in jest you know. I've spent a good deal of time centered on your and Tony Foale's on press postings; both frames and inverted jacks especially.
Gave up looking for a commercial press of any age to my liking [& under $3,000 ouch]. Main goal is straightening, laterally movable ram, easily located table adjustment, and when needed mounting die-shoes.

Yep. I am very happy that i don't need to work with thick or very wide materials. Big press comes pricey. I make things just for fun, so i rather don't pay much from the tools or builds.
If that ever changes, then i would need much bigger workshop first..
