Multi-paneled sundial for time in different countries - photo

Labeled as multi-paneled sundial for time in different countries. Still a bit skeptical, but can't find this elsewhere via a reverse Google Images search. I guess this is the, ahem, proto-chrono version of a watch displaying the time in multiple timezones.

One thing I have never fully understood is humans obsession with time.
as a young boy if it was light we tended to the chores if it was dark we slept if the Preacher showed up for dinner we knew it must have been Sunday because he always came around wanting to fill his more than ample gut with grandmas fried chicken.
we used to have a saying it must be Sunday here comes that chicken eaten preacher trying to save our souls and mooch a meal.

I remember an ad in our local newspaper years ago, where a lady posted an ad for a used sundial for sale that "works fine and keeps perfect time"!

That looks like the end of a hunting club which the guy, who lived at the top of Jack's beanstalk, carried when he went rabbit hunting!

He only ate rabbit stew .....

Type "multi-faceted sundial" into Google and you'll see a huge compendium of the type. Scotland is, for some reason, very rich in them; there's one with about 75 "facets".

It's easy; just move the dial 1037 miles west in the spring and back east in the fall. :-)

Wouldn’t it be better for a sun dial have to have its vertical axis set to oscillate in an increasing elliptical pattern from a true cylindrical circle based on absolute vertical located at zero meridian zero latitude to a few degree seconds off true vertical for each degree of latitude north or south adjusting orientation the apogee and perigees relative to north/south and the meridian angle of the sun while tilting the axis east or west a few arc seconds adjusting for the 365.256 days of the year further incorporating the north /south mean axis being adjusted to compensate for the 41,000 year change in the obliquity between 22.1 and 24.5 degrees in other words mounted like a pan vice instead of trying to move it 1,037 miles east to west

Or be like me and not even worry about what time it is My wife complains all the time about my not keeping the pendulum 31 day wall clock wound or that there are 3 clocks on various walls in our house with dead batteries I tell her every one of them has the correct time 2 times a day and that is close enough for me.
