NASA Tire Assault Vehicle (TAV), made from a German World War II tank model
NASA's space shuttle tires are one-time use, and they're fairly rigorously tested. If a tire test wears a tire, but does not puncture it, the tire then needs to be properly deflated, from a safe distance. Enter the Tire Assault Vehicle, created from a German WWII Tamiya King Tiger tank model, at a cost of less than $3,000. The TAV simply drills into the tire remotely, safely deflating it. Yes, that's a DeWalt drill.
