New Bolt for Lathe Spindle Control Lever

I have been making improvements to my 12”x37” geared-head gap bed lathe requiring removing the lathe spindle control lever before removing and adjusting the carriage lead screw. Originally the lever was assembled with a roll pin and later using a cotter pin. I replaced the cotter pin with a custom bolt and jam nut combination in order to make the disassembly and assembly much easier. The 0.208” dia. by 2.25” long custom bolt is threaded 10-32 and the jam nuts are a combination of a knurled cylindrical nut and a hexagonal nut. All parts are made from 12L14 steel.

Very nice, Paul. Little things, but shows TLC for the stuff we have.
