NEW: Browse our Best homemade tools by photo

New feature: click the "Best" tab at the top of the page to view our Best homemade tools at once.

Here's how it works:

-When someone wins Homemade Tool of the Week, their winning discussion is moved to our Must Read subforum.

-Once a month, we also move the most-Thanked posts into our Must Read subforum (usually posts with 5 or more "Thanks" votes).

All of the tools from those winning and most-Thanked discussions are listed on our Best page. As new discussions get moved into our Must Read subforum, the tool card for each discussion will be listed on our Best page.

Just bumping this feature after moving in the November batch of most-Thanked posts into the Must Read subforum. Looks like we'll have a few new Must Read awards to hand out soon too.

With 31,000+ tools listed now, this site can be a bit overwhelming, but the Best page is pure high-quality browsing. Here's the link again:

In addition to the new Best page, we have a new homepage that features our best stuff, updated multiple times during the day. This is less for forum regulars, and more for people who just happen to stop by our homepage.

And, we now feature a healthy daily dose (3-5 threads) from our Must Read subforum in our newsletter that goes to 40,000+ subscribers. So if you get your thread moved into the Must Read subforum, you can expect it to be regularly re-visited and promoted. As we grow larger, we have to work continuously to preserve and promote our best threads so that they're always easy to find for new and old users.
