I saw a 30 ton bottle jack with a pneumatic pump on it in a Pawn shop for $35.00 the other day. My wife was in a hurry so I didn't have a chance to ask them to let me power it up or I would have b ought it That would be perfect for something like that I have a 12 ton air assisted jack on my shop press.

That would be very cool, I still dont have an air compressor yet, but I will soon for tools and bead blasting. I have my 50 gallon drum and all the metal ready to weld up for the media tank. The hand pump bottle jack isnt as nice as a pneumatic jack. Thanks for the great tip!!

Hello all, I found this site by accident and was completely blown away. I do sheet metal fabrication for a living, but find it very boring. Making practical cool stuff at home is awesome. Here is a picture of my latest project, bottle jack press brake. I made it so top and bottom dies could be changed out.

Welcome to HMT.net and impressed by your 12 ton press brake. Unsure why you've added a hydraulic jack; if big enough to fire that out-sized BAR...Rofl
Yeah, I know it's a DoD classroom model, but not nearly as funny!

Had occasion to study Mr. J. M. Browning [author Curt Gentry] in 6th grade, about 55 years ago. Fully consumed my interest and steered [shoved] me happily into the metal trades. The firearms aspect is stunning enough; his mechanical interpretations were the kicker.
I'm lucky that work and home time can barely differentiate; and I choose so frequently.
Around 10 years ago it happened again, Frank A. Pachmayr, [author John Lachuk]. Less patents maybe, but a terrific gunsmith and astute tactician of business.

I did a quicky addition to my shop press some years ago, sometimes I will modify it to suit my needs at the time

Lol, the BAR trainer was given to me by my wife's boss. My grandfather was a tool and die maker, wish I would have gone that route. Im still thankful for a trade that puts beans on the table. Thanks for the respone best regards sir!

Frank, the forming die is killer, I never thought of that, one could make all sorts of stuff doing die forming. The fact your restoration is done with your own fabricated parts is genius! Very impressive!

Sadly I haven't completed the restoration life and a relocation to a 17 acre property has kind of gotten in the way. The chevy truck project is still packed away in a van trailer and still over 200 miles from me at this time. Hopefully we will be trucking it out here in the next few months as that is the last trailer I need to get moved
