    Old hand drill restoration

Hi, I found an old hand drill on a scrap metal. I liked this drill and I decided to restore it. The hardest thing was to disassemble everything and not damage the parts, rust jammed the bushings and the bearing. This hand drill has a two speed.

A great job of restoring a very nice old drill, in the UK these are known as a breast drill because of the chest pad, did you use electrolysis for rust removal?, apart from the clean up I have found it will free up most rusted assembly's.
    Always enjoy your posts.

Thank. Cleaned out of rust by chemical means. Used a special liquid based on the acid.

Nicely done and great save. My Dad had one like this years ago. Curious how the 2 speed works...do you pull or push the hex shaft?? Thanks for sharing this with us.

To select a different speed you need to rearrange the handle to another shaft
