Over bench crane
Hi again,
Here is strange gizmo I came up with visiting my scrap box.
I needed something that could serve as a third hand in order to hold different things over the bench, while I'm working with the other two (hands).
So I found in the scrap pile the relics of an old wooden sunshade. As I can never come to through out wooden pieces, this one eventually found a new life.
So here it is :

You can hold nearly what you want until it's not too heavy, but the reason why I wanted it is to hold the heat gun over the bench, while I'm gluing with hot hide glue. Keeping the work pieces warm gives you more open time.

Note : the heat gun is fixed with a band of bicycle air chamber.
Next time, I will try to adapt the camera on it.
And the beauty of the thing is that : it is foldable and can be forgotten in a corner of the shop when not in use.

This is high tech...

Great job repurposing the sunshade frame. Can be swung in or out of the way. Collapsible to boot!

Great idea as usual, Christophe.
