This Funk B project, built by David McCandless on RotecEngines.com, is a rare look at a radial engine conversion done to a classic 1940s plane.

The first Funk B used an engine developed from a Ford Model B motor, and a single plane saw service in WWII with the US Army Air Corps, under the UC-92 designation. After the war, the Model B was replaced with a Continental C85. In this build, David switches it out for a Rotec R2800, installs a modern propeller, fabricates a new cowl, and gets her back in the air.
