That plumb bob looks really nice schor. I would store it in a display case than in a toolbox. Too pretty to use. :) Thanks for the helpful video.
Thanks Steve! I've added your Plumb Bob to our Machining category, as well as to your builder page: schor's Homemade Tools. Your receipt:
<div id="blocks"> <div class="block b1 pngfix"> <div class="bimg"> <div> <a href="/plumb-bob-2"><img src="/uploads/90664/plumb-bob-2.jpeg" alt="Plumb Bob" /></a> </div> </div> <div class="head pngfix"></div> <div class="left pngfix"></div> <div class="right pngfix"></div> <div class="blockover b1 pngfix"> <div class="title"> <a href="/plumb-bob-2">Plumb Bob</a> <span> by <a href="/builder/schor">schor</a></span> </div> <div class="tags"> tags: <a href="/tag/machining">machining</a>, <a href="/tag/lathe">lathe</a>, <a href="/tag/plumb-bob">plumb bob</a> </div> </div> </div> </div>
I have to say, the EDC part of my mind saw that as a defensive tool disguised as a plumb bob. Very nice indeed!
Thanks
I know it looks like something else, I did this totally without any pplans, just some materials I had, it just ended up looking like it did.
I would say an offensive tool sometimes also, it slipped in my hand and my other had went to grab it and it stuck 1/2" into my palm, it only slipped maybe 2". The stainless tip is as sharp as a pin and it weights around 6lb.
Ouch! That's a weapon, that's for sure. But it really is a great piece of work. The TLC is evident.
