Portable Bandsaw Stand
Protable Bandsaw Stand. I made the base from 1/2 of a Railroad Rail base plate from a switch point, very heavy and nice to machine. The res from scrap from around the shop. Steel round & square tubing, 6061 Alu for the nobs, 6061 Alu for the saw forward handle adapter fitting, CRS 1018 for the machined re-tension shafts, 1/8" thick Cold Rolled steel plate for the table (recycled from an old aircraft jack stand), and a little paint to make it nice. Very solid and stable, I can set it anywhere to use it. About 3 in of table travel. Inspirational credit to You Tuber Chuck B. (Outsidescrewball).

Very nice! That piece of rail makes for such a solid build.
-
The plate is 1.1875 thick. Very stable and solid, no vibration.
-
Randy,
I like your heavy base made from part of a railroad rail base plate from a switch point. The wider switch point base sure makes the saw very stable but still light enough to move around.
Thanks, Paul

Very nice...may try to copy it for my milwaukee band saw. Nice work.

Catfish;
Few commercial benchtoppers have slow FPM, yours solves that well, I'm impressed.:bow: Despite access to various machine tools, I have a thing for metal-cutting bandsaws, especially vertical. I can see where your Stand, and my Milwaukee Portable Bandsaw Table (but then it's a horizontal) make a good team.
I'm also struck with an idea to build your Stand into right-hand half of work bench, it serving as table for the bandsaw...I'm always notching long stock in thickness from 10ga to 1/4". That would support both sides of material better than a regular bandsaw, very much like the Roll-In or Marvel pattern vertical machines.

Nice work on the machine AND the presentation. Everything you need to know. Shown with quality photos. No shakey out of focus video just to get clicks.

" . . . quality photos. No shakey out of focus video just to get clicks.
Yup. 1 picture worth 1000 (or 10k, depending who is asked) words.
And not 13 commercial banners in a 28 minute presentation; often not related (don't play video games, can spell, no 8 free COVID test kits per month, social life is secure, no sketchy imports, female oriented products, participate in human trafficking lures...) interruptions, what-so-ever!
