Thanks NortonDommi, best wishes completing yours. You may be aware of it but anvilfire.com has lots of good ideas. I want to try some of the RR tooling plans there with some of the RR I have left.

Very nice work. I especially like the top plate so you have a step.
Thanks you milomilo. The added plate gets around some of the problems with RR anvils, little or no step, small working face and no hardy hole. Unfortunately not everyone has access to heavy steel plate or welding equipment.
That's one of the nicer RR track anvils I've seen.
I have access to both, the steel and the welding equipment. I have a 2' chunk of rail in waiting.
Thanks for the like will52100
Thats great Chris sounds like your ready to go. Looking forward to seeing the finished anvil.
The comment by Frank S about two horn anvil brought to mind the lawn ornament that a neighbor has, a large, 175 - 200lb anvil with a round horn and a square horn at the other end, i have always thought it a waist as an ornament. No doubt that it came off his father's farm next door. I do not need another anvil but have always contemplated asking to buy it. Strange what some see as decorations.
Very nice job with the rr anvil, happy pounding
An Anvil as a yard ornament? THAT'S SACRILEGE!
Most agreed!!
Black paint too. Can just see it all shined up and ringing with use, oh well
